New Model, New Sound
This new model is the amPlug 2 Lead VOX headphone guitar amplifier - an upgrade on the first-generation amPlug Lead which was extremely popular for its searing, high gain tone.
VOX have spent a considerable amount of time improving the cabinet simulation which results in an even great sense of a real, full-fledged amp than ever before.
Utilising proprietary analog technology, VOX have designed multi-stage gain circuity which perfectly reproduces the complex distortion that is generated by vacuum tube amplifiers.
Great Features
Powered by two AAA batteries, you can play anytime, wherever you want and the amPlug 2 will last up to 17 hours. On this newest version, VOX have even added an energy saving Auto Power-Off function for increased battery life.
When you’re finished playing, even without manually turning the amPlug2 off if the headphone amp doesn’t detect a signal for a certain length of time it’ll turn itself off, conserving battery life.
The jack plug that goes into your guitar has 5-step rotation up to 180 degrees so you can adjust the amp’s angle for optimal visibility and reach. This folding design also improves convenience making it easier to fit into your pocket, guitar case or gig bag.
An AUX IN jack allows you to hook up your phone, mp3 player or other external audio device making it easy to jam along with your favourite songs and backing tracks.
Amp Styles and Effects
The amPlug 2 “Lead” offers a versatile mid-boost sound allowing you even richer lead tones. Check out the different amp options the amPlug 2 Lead has:
- Boost1 – The classic lead sound of 1980s hard rock and heavy metal
- Boost2 – Lead sound with boosted mids, very popular in the 1990s
- Boost3 – An ultra-high gain lead sound with boosted mids characteristic of modern amps
Also, built into the amPlug2 are nine different selectable effects including three types of Chorus, three types of Delay and three types of Reverb. You can spend literally hours upon hours playing around with your sound and enjoying the results.
