Passive PA speakers provide vital sound reinforcement for musicians playing live. Accompanied with an amplifier, passive pa speakers are used in a multitude of applications ranging from smaller mobile bands, DJs, right the way through to bars, clubs, venues and even stadiums.
The majority of passive pa speakers are usually two-way, consisting of a woofer, tweeter and a crossover splitting the bass and treble frequencies between the two. Available in varying size and material, smaller and lighter speakers are often built in plastic enclosures with smaller 8” to 10” woofers.
Larger and louder PA speakers often have 15” woofers and are used for an improved frequency response, higher output power and SPL.
