Adjust the height of the stand to a comfortable level, and use the tension screw to adjust the pedal's resistance to your preference. Finally, ensure the cymbals are evenly aligned and the gap between them is set to achieve your desired sound when the pedal is pressed. 

Maintaining your hi-hat stand involves regularly checking and tightening any screws or bolts to ensure stability. Clean the stand with a soft cloth to remove dust and dirt, and occasionally lubricate moving parts, such as the pedal mechanism, to ensure smooth operation.
