What is A Grand Pacific Guitar?
Taylor’s new Grand Pacific guitar is an evolution of the classic dreadnought.
The standard dreadnought guitar gives you big tone but it can be muddy and clouds the notes.
With the Taylor Grand Pacific, you get big dreadnought sound but with tighter low-end and dramatically increased clarity.
In short, the Grand Pacific body shape offers incredible versatility along with all the benefits of a dreadnought and none of the drawbacks.
Crafting the Taylor 317e Electro-Acoustic Guitar
Solid Sitka Spruce has been used for the top, an incredibly popular tone wood due to its rich tones, great resonance and broad dynamic range.
Solid Sapele is used for the back and sides, complementing the Sitka Spruce top for a sound that is dry, focused and harmonically complex.
Being made from solid wood, the Taylor 317e will sound better with age as the more you play it the more resonant the wood will become.
V-Class Bracing Tailored for The Grand Pacific
Replacing the traditional X-bracing, V-Class bracing is able to produce louder notes that are more in tune with each other and enhances sustain.
It does this by allowing the Taylor’s top to be both stiff and flexible at the same time, transforming the way it vibrates.
The V-Class bracing has been tailored to the Grand Pacific body and really helps add to the incredible versatility of this awesome new guitar style.
Expression System 2 Electronics
With an innovative behind-the-saddle design, the Expression System 2 is able to capture all the dynamic properties of the Taylor 317e.
It features three sensors positioned in different locations and individually calibrated in order to better capture the guitar’s dynamic range.
Equipped with Taylor’s own custom-designed professional-grade preamp, the ES2 offers incredible amplified tone and fantastic response to match.
