Paying homage to the style and sound of classic guitars from 1930s America, the Crossroads series from Tanglewood brings an incredible and unique experience to guitar playing.
With the Great Depression gripping America, the 30s were a hard time for many. The silver lining of these hardships is that it inspired some of the most influential musicians in history and gave birth to the sound we know as the blues.
Guitars of this time weren’t fancy, didn’t have expensive lacquers; they were no-frills and straight forwardly functional.
As money was short, these guitars were a significant purchase and as such they had to be well constructed, ensuring they would last a long time and they were often passed down through family generations
Tanglewood Crossroads guitars have been made in this same spirit and are a great tribute to this time and style.
Tanglewood Quality Construction
An Orchestra body shape, the Crossroads TWCR O has a top that has been crafted from hand selected genuine Mahogany with Mahogany back and sides to match, delivering a beautifully rich tone.
A Mahogany neck is in place, featuring a traditional Rosewood fretboard which aids rich tones while levelling out high end harshness.
Befitting the time period to which the Crossroads series pays homage, Tanglewood have created the new Whiskey Barrel Burst satin finish so the TWCR O truly looks the part.
Hard Wearing Hardware
Ensuring your strings are precise tuned and stable, at the headstock of the Tanglewood TWCR O you will find chrome die cast machine heads.
The nut is ABS as is the saddle which is also compensated to ensure improved intonation across all six strings.
Coming ready-strung with Bronze Light strings, the TWCR O is a great acoustic guitar for beginners, with the Tanglewood Crossroads being the perfect place to begin your own musical journey.
