In this case we have a Ray34 - a StingRay style bass, with an on-board 3-band active EQ, Swamp Ash body, and a powerful Alnico humbucker.
Top Notch Construction
Despite the palatable price, the Sterling by Music Man Ray34 features some top-spec materials and hardware.
Featuring a comfortably contoured Swamp Ash body, with a roasted Hard Maple neck attached via 6 bolt attachment, and a Rosewood fingerboard, if it wasn't for the Sterling logo on the headstock you'd think this was a much more expensive instrument.
Active Electronics
Like it's more-expensive siblings, the Sterling by Music Man Ray34 comes equipped with a powerful Alnico Humbucker, and a 9v Active 3-band preamp.
This combination, along with the construction materials used to make the bass, results in a tight and articulate tone, that has plenty of mid-range punch. Also, thanks to the 3-band EQ controls, you can alter your tone as you see fit, giving you access to a wide variety of sounds suitable to any playstyle.
