The Sabian AAX 19" Thin Brilliant Crash Cymbal offers a slightly brighter top end response than the natural finish model. Featuring a small bell and new hammering style, this crash delivers fast accents and a wide band of frequency.
1993 to 2019
First introduced in 1993, the Sabian AAX series quickly became popular thanks to its forward-thinking, modern sound.
Wanting to maintain that relevant, progressive ethos, Sabian revamped the range in 2019 to ensure they continued to meet the needs of modern drummers and current, diverse music styles.
Delisting some of the less popular cymbals and maintaining the successful Freq, X-Plosion, Aero and Omni models, Sabian have streamlined the range to create a much more focused series of sounds.
In addition, the new AAX range sees the introduction of a variety of thin and medium crashes as well as thin, medium and heavy rides.
This new series reshuffle combined with the use of a new hammering process serves to deliver a cymbal series with a wide frequency response that offers thinner, faster and more complex sound options.

The transformation of the Sabian AAX line sees the introduction of a whole new style of AAX hammering.
Using a larger, rounder hammering peen, this 19" crash has a much more visible hammered surface which serves to create a thinner, more complex and slightly darker tone.
In addition to have an effect on the cymbal finish, this new hammering process also adds more highs to the crash sound resulting in a much wider band of frequency.
The result is a crash cymbal that's filled with more highs and more complex dark lows for a versatile range of sound ideal for various music styles.
