The Sabian AAX 19" Thin Crash Cymbal utilises a small bell and new hammering process to deliver very fast accenting tone and a wide frequency response.

Transformation of the AAX Line

Introducing a whole new palette of sound to the AAX line, Sabian unveiled a revamped range of AAX cymbals at the NAMM show 2019.

Delisting some of the less popular cymbals and maintaining the successful Omni, Aero, Freq and X-Plosion models, Sabian have transformed the series to deliver a more focused range of sounds.

They've also incorporated a range of thin and medium crashes as well as thin, medium and heavy rides.

This combined with the introduction of a new hammering process serves to provide a cymbal series with a wide frequency response to deliver thinner, faster and more complex sound options.

This Sabian 19" Thin Crash is also available in a brilliant finish.

  • Small, Raw Bell Delivers Faster Response
  • New Style of AAX Hammering
  • Thinner Sound with Darker Tone
  • Brighter Highs, More Complex Lows
  • Wide Band of Frequency

Smaller Bell

The Sabian 18" AAX Thin Crash features a much smaller bell than typically found on larger crashes which serves to provide a much faster response.

As a result, this crash cymbal opens up extremely quickly to deliver a fast flash of accenting tone ideal for injecting extra impact into your playing.

Wider Frequency Range

The rebrand of the Sabian AAX line sees the introduction of a whole new style of hammering.

Utilising a larger, rounder peen, this 18" crash has a much more visibly hammered cymbal surface which serves to create a thinner more complex and slightly darker tone.

As well as having a clear visual effect on the cymbal finish, this new hammering process also adds more highs to the crash sound resulting in a much wider band of frequency.

The result is a crash cymbal that's filled with brighter highs and more complex dark lows for a versatile range of sound ideal for various music styles.

For the Future

The whole ethos of the Sabian rebrand and newly revamped AAX series is focused on highlighting the forward-thinking, boundary pushing, innovative nature of the Sabian company.

Maintaining their vision to create new and interesting sound sources to meet the needs of modern drummers, Sabian have used the latest manufacturing technology to create a new line of AAX sounds.

Providing drummers with a variety of sound sources that allow them to build their own creative voice, the AAX range was designed for the individuals.

For those who don't follow the crowd but instead pave their own musical path to achieve their own unique sound.

If you're looking for your next move, your future sound. Look no further than the AAX range.

Summary

Combining a new look with a new hammering style to deliver a whole new sound, the Sabian AAX 18" Thin Crash delivers a thinner, faster, more complex sound.

The use of the larger hammering process serves to provide a wide frequency response filled with bright highs and smooth dark sustain.

The inclusion of a smaller, raw bell helps to shape the instant bursting attack of this crash to deliver immediate punches of accenting tone.

Designed to be different, the AAX 18" is a new crash sound for the progressive player.
