Who Is Vernon Reid?
British-born American guitar player Vernon Reid was the founder and primary songwriter for the rock band Living Colour, and is widely regarded as one of the top 100 guitar players of the past four decades.
Due to his electic playstyle encompassing elements of heavy pmetal, punk, funk, R&B, and even avant-garde Jazz, any guitar that bears his name is sure to exude the kind of flair and versatility that he has become synonymous with.
Top Notch Construction
From the ground up this guitar takes inspiration from the standard S2 Vela, but sports a range of improvements built to meet Reids needs.
In addition to the solid Mahogany body and Neck, this axe sports a Floyd Rose 1000 series tremolo bridge and locking nut, which offers not only increased tuning stability, but also allows you to slight shimmers to crazy divebombs with ease.
In addition to this, the neck has been given a vintage-style "V"-profile shape, and pickguard is sporting custom artwork designed by Vernon himself.
Sounds Incredible
To deliver an awesome array of tones, PRS have equipped this guitar with a pair of HFS humbucker pickups, which deliver an aggressive sound that features clear highs, with strong mid and bass frequencies.
In addition to this, the pickup selector is a 5-way switch, giving you some excellent single coil tones to add into your mix alongside the humbucker voice.
