The Big Apple range of drumsticks was designed by Meinl to offer big sound for bop styles and light focus for swing styles.
The Big Apple Swing drumsticks were made for those who like a big stick but need a light touch.
If you’re a swing drummer that prefers the feel of a larger drumstick but fear larger sizes will cause your playing to overpowering the rest of the band, Meinl has the solution. The Big Apple Swing sticks were crafted specifically with drummers like you in mind.
Featuring a thick .600” diameter, similar to a 5B, and a standard 16” length this is a stick that feels robust.
The undersized acorn wood tip serves to undermine the hefty size of the stick, providing a light focused response untypical of sticks this size. The small acorn tip provides a sweet cymbal articulation with maximum clarity for a breathy, open sound.
The Big Apple Swing sticks are constructed using light Hickory to provide a lightweight feel and robust build quality.
