CP-1X; a new type of multiband guitar compressor, giving you incredible levels of musical expression with proprietary MDP technology.

Special Edition Boss Compressor

Combining over 40 years of technical knowledge, pedal design innovation and cutting edge technology, this next generation Boss Compressor pedal delivers a new experience with unprecedented control over dynamics while retaining your guitar’s unique characteristics.

Intelligent Processing for Natural Sounding Compression

While your usual stompbox compressors colour and restrict your sound and can be difficult to set up for different playing styles, the Boss CP-1X compressor pedal has been specially designed to eliminate these drawbacks.

Utilising Multi-Dimensional Processing (or MDP for short), the CP-1X analyses the different tonal elements of your guitar and your playing in real time and adapts accordingly, providing a peerlessly natural compression.

Even with the compression level set to the extreme, your unique tone and playing technique is always present and allows for unhindered expressive potential.

X Series Technology

When designing the X Series pedals, Boss wanted to deliver something truly special. To that end, an incredible amount of research and development was put in to creating the proprietary Boss MDP chip, allowing for Multi-Dimensional Processing, or MDP for short.

MDP allows the pedal to analyse your performance and adapt its own output to your playing.

Taking into account numerous aspects of what make up the sound, such as frequency, overtones, pickup response and dynamics and playing characteristics such as note register, single notes vs. chords, amount of vibrato and bends, the CP-1X constantly adapts in real time so you get perfectly tailored, smooth, and seamless compression.

Each element is processed individually so the tones are perfectly optimised while you play. The combined input from the world’s greatest guitarists and the engineers at Boss has produced an incredibly musical, inspiring and exciting technology in the Boss X Series pedals

Simple Controls, Studio-Level Results

In terms of ease of use and its appearance; the CP-1X couldn’t be simpler. However, if you look under the hood you’ll find that some incredible work is going on.

Mounted on the thick chrome control plate are four chrome knobs, exclusive to the Boss X series. These knobs; LEVEL, ATTACK, RATIO and COMPRESSION, give you full control over the CP-1X while being quick and easy to use.

Behind the scenes, each of the pedal’s controls are interacting with each other on an extremely highly detailed level. With the simple turn of a knob, a number of interlocked parameters are adjusted in real time all at once.

This gives you an incredible level of dynamics and tone shaping control that you never find in standard compressor pedals and it gives you the kind of results you’d expect from high-end studio processors; all with at your fingertips with a few simple knobs.

High End Features and Pro-Grade Performance

The Boss CP-1X features professional-grade 18-volt input circuitry, providing huge amounts of headroom, perfect for even the hottest of guitar pickups so you always get crystal clarity in your tone no matter what guitar you’re using.

A gain reduction indicator lights up with the use of a 16-segment display so you can see at a glance the amount of compression being applied. Bright and colourful, you’ll be able to see this display even in the darkest of stage conditions.

Unlike other compressors, you’ll also find the CP-1X noise performance is extremely low so it’s perfectly suited to tightly controlled sonic performance and studio recording.

Optimised for all types of guitars, simple to use and delivering incredible results; the Boss CP-1X is a next-generation compressor pedal for the most discerning guitarists.
