Perfect for Kick drums, AKG have included one of their leading, modern kick drum microphones. Capturing low-end frequencies with incredible clarity, the D12 VR Dynamic microphone will effortlessly provide you with the rhythmic backbone that your drum sound deserves.
Combine the D12 with the quadruple set of D40 Dynamic microphones and you're already halfway towards achieving a great full-bodied drum sound. The main driving force behind the kit, these four dynamic microphones can impressively handle anything you can throw at it - equipped to handle volumes of up to 156dB SPL, the D40 is perfect for capturing the dynamics and attack times of the snare and tom drums.
Next is the C451, a perfect little addition for capturing the bright notes of the hi-hat. With its small-diaphragm design, this condenser microphone delivers an airy and natural sound, perfect for capturing the crispy details that the hi-hat delivers.
Perhaps the cherry on top, the stereo pair of C214 Condenser microphones are incredibly well-equipped to perform as overhead microphones. Tieing the whole kit together, they bring studio-quality richness to your recording. Thanks to their superb dynamic range and accuracy, you'll truly feel as though you're in the room when listening back to these industry-standard workhorses.
