A modern descendent of the original K Custom Special Dry range of cymbals, this new premium range from Zildjian certainly have big shoes to fill. Fortunately they manage to do it, and with bags of extra oompf to spare. Constructed utilising a combination of modern hammering techniques and the more traditional K hammering, this excellent example of Zildjian engineering is perfectly designed for a more modern musical environment.
Fast attack, fast decay, dirt to spare!
The Zildjian K1426 21 K Custom Special Dry Ride is raw and earthy in both looks and sound. Delivering a dry, funky sound with quick attack/delay and a bagful of dirt inbetween, this powerhouse of a cymbal features a powerfully expressive personality. The stick sound is nice and solid, but crashable, and there's a great wash under the stick with dark funky undertones; the integrated bell easily enables the whole cymbal to respond to the lightest of touches.
Enabling the drummers of today to utilise complex K sounds in a more contemporary environment, this cymbal range is perfectly suited to a wide spectrum of modern musical styles, ranging from gospel to metal and everything inbetween. The K Custom Special Dry range has most certainly been expertly designed with the diverse music scene of today in mind.
