With inspiring tone, great playability and unique individual styling, this versatile guitar is everything you'd hope it would be.

Vintage Vibrations

From its eye-catching custom floating tailpiece to it's unique Vintage Japanese Demin finish, the RS502TFM screams individuality. Built around this very goal, the Revstar range from Yamaha has been created with custom-design at its core - heavily inspired by the Café Racer motorbikes of 1960's London and Tokyo, this line of guitars aim to replicate the 'no frills, no compromises' mentality of the Japanese automotive engineering of old.

Yamaha Revstar RS502TFM Electric Guitar Vintage Japanese Denim Highlights

  • Highly playable double-cutaway Revstar guitar
  • New Vintage Japanese Denim finish
  • Custom voiced P90 pickups
  • Flamed Maple top over a Mahogany Body
  • Locking tuners
  • TOM bridge with original brushed aluminium tailpiece

Authentic Pickups

With authenticity of such high importance to Yamaha, what else could produce a more vintage-inspired sound than a duo of their own VP5 pickups? Heavily inspired by the classic P-90 style pickups, they employ a best-of-both-worlds approach to tonality.

Perfectly balancing the highs with the lows, the custom-wound VP5's provide all the brightness and clarity of a single-coil pickup and blend it will the full-bodied, warm sound of a humbucker style pickup.

The resulting tone is a carefully balanced mix of sonic characters which thrives off any play-style you throw at it.

Innovative Dry Switch

Designed especially for their Revstar range of guitars, the RS502TFM comes equipped with a revolutionary Dry Switch. With the option to split your double coil into a single coil, ordinarily, you would expect a muddiness and loss of volume as an unavoidable side effect - but the innovative technicians at Yamaha have developed a solution.

Filtering out the low frequencies using a passive filter circuit, the dry switch improves the clarity of the single coil and fills out the tone - which would otherwise be hollow and lacking. The addition of this Dry Switch makes the RS502TFM a truly versatile instrument with plenty of tone options for a variety of styles and applications.

Custom-Built Style

Inspired heavily by the custom Café Racer motorbikes that popularized on the streets of London in the 1960s, Yamaha have built the Revstar series of guitars to perfectly reflect this. Both hardware and aesthetics are custom-design so that each individual aspect appears unique in both style and sensibility.

Perhaps the most immediately noticeable feature, a custom floating aluminium tailpiece sits atop the Vintage Japanese Denim flamed maple top. Easily passing off for a repurposed piece of motorcycle chassis or mechanical paraphernalia, the tailpiece is the star of the show, perfectly calibrated for both performance and style.
