New Grand Theatre Shape
Taylor's Grand Concert model was originally designed to offer players a true performers guitar that was smaller than a full sized-dreadnought, but with a big voice that belies its stature.
Now, Taylor have taken the design a step further with the Grand Theatre - a smaller bodied, shorter-scaled acoustic that sits between a Grand Concert and a GS Mini in terms of size.
To compliment this new body shape and size, Taylor have also developed the C-Class bracing system, which hels to boost the guitar's bass response, giving you the kind of warmth and presence you'd never associate with a guitar this small.
Premium Quality Construction
For this guitar to deliver a combination of comfort and rich, solid-wood tone, Taylor have opted for the classic tonewood pairing of Solid Sitka Spruce and Solid Indian Rosewood.
Whilst the Spruce Top provides plenty of clarity and projection, the Rosewood back and sides offers a rich and well-balanced voice, overall resulting in what is - without a doubt - the most popular guitar tonewood combination of the past century.
In addition to this, the model has been appointed to match the rest of the 800 Series guitars, with mapl binding and black purfling, a single-ring abalone rosette, thin gloss finish to the entire body, and even mother-of-pearl fingerboard and headstock inlays.
In other words, the Taylor GT 811 would make an excellent centrepiece to any players collection.
