The Tama Starphonic PCP147 copper snare drum is hand crafted in Japan with premium grade copper offering excellent tone and a lot of versatility.
First Copper Snare in The Starphonic Series
The Tama PCP147 is the first copper snare drum in the Starphonic series, feasturing a 1.2mm copper shell and 7” depth.
Combining excellent Starphonic series features, premium grade copper and Japanese hand crafting, this snare drum produces raw, dark tone with beautifully rich overtones.

Linear-Drive Strainer
The Tama Starphonic copper snare drum features a “Linear-Drive” strainer, a patented strainer that offers dramticly improved control over the lever adjustment arm and the motion of the strainer.
With a proper linear motion, the strainer prevents the slap of snare wires hitting the drumhead when engaged.
Super Sensitive Hi-Carbon Snappy Snare
The PCP147 snare drum’s strainer also boasts from a ratchet system tension adjuster which prevents the snare wires from loosening while offering precise adjustment.
The 20 strand Super Sensitive Hi-Carbon Snare wire features a specialised plate and winding pattern for the wire coils which gives you fantastic sensitivity and crispness.
