The Tama S.L.P Studio Maple 22" 4pc Shell Pack is a high-quality shell pack from Tama, taking inspiration from Tama's popular S.L.P snare drum series. The shells feature a stunning Sienna Gloss finish, complemented by the 100 percent maple wood hoops and the polished chrome shell hardware.
The maple shells offer brilliant, warm singing mid and high frequencies that maple is known for, with a gentle dry, vintage decay to finish off the tone due to rounded outer edges and Tama's Sound Focus Rings on the inside of the shells.
The 100 percent maple wooden hoops ensure a short sustain and a beautiful decay, making the kit perfect for use on stage or in the studio. The shells are finished off with attractive polished chrome hardware and Evans G1 coated batter heads for a continuous tone across the entire kit. Completed with the beautiful Sienna Gloss burst finish, the Tama S.L.P Studio Maple Shell Pack is a step forward in tone for live performances or studio use

The Tama S.L.P Shells are 6-ply of maple in the rack toms and floor toms and 8-ply in the bass drum. These Maple shells feature a wide/looser grain for a fatter, heavier, controlled tone with increased projection and warmth.
If that wasn't enough wood the hoops will surely tick any empty boxes. being 100% maple they complement the tone of the shells but shorten the sustain and resonance resulting in a round woody attack and warmth.
Hardware Features
Tama has redesigned the 'Direct Flexi-Mount', a two-piece structure that is designed around a plate that attaches to the shell and another piece for securing the L-rod of the tom holder. the plate controls the vibration of the shell giving you a shorter decay but still letting the shell resonate adding to the overall character of the drums.
