The Music Man StingRay5 has been the industry-standard extended range bass since the late 1980's, and now with the Sterling and Sterling S.U.B. lineup it's more affordable than ever.
Rock Solid Construction
With the Sterling by Music Man Ray35 you get a professional-grade 5-stringed "Ray" bass, at a more than reasonable price.
Featuring a solid Mahogany body, with a super-smooth roasted Maple neck, and an Alnico humbucker with that iconic 3-way pickup switch, this bass is perfect for the aspiring professional.
High Quality Electronics
In addition to the traditionally thick StingRay humbucker sound, the Ray35's "pickup selector" gives you access to even more tonal variations.
In position 1 (bridge) the sound is as mentioned above: traditional StingRay. However, in position 2 (middle) the pickup is split, giving you a vintage-sounding single coil voice. Position 3 (neck) has both pickup coils running in parallel, giving you a sound that's closer to a P-Bass split coil pickup.
Add the 3-band active EQ into the mix, and you have an incredible array of tones to play around with when searching for those elusive sweet spots.
