In addition to its exceptional headphone amplifier section, the Phonitor X also functions as a comprehensive preamplifier, perfect for driving power amplifiers and active studio monitors. Powered by SPL's innovative 120v rail technology, known as VOLTAiR, the Phonitor X supplies a remarkable 120 volts (as implied by its name) while delivering an expansive dynamic range exceeding 140 dB.
The Phonitor X provides support for up to five input sources, accommodating both balanced and unbalanced options. Analogue inputs are available through XLR and RCA connectors, while the inclusion of SPL's optional DAC upgrade board offers digital inputs in the form of coaxial, optical, and USB connections.
At maximum output, the Phonitor X showcases an impressive 3.7W of power, delivering a stunning playback experience with tightened bass response and a transparent reproduction of mids and high frequencies.
The Phonitor X incorporates Phonitor Matrix technology, allowing intelligent crossfading of channels to faithfully emulate the experience of listening to monitors within a studio control room.
To enhance user control and customization, the Phonitor X model features a streamlined control set, including four switchable speaker angle settings. Additionally, an adjustable crossfade function provides the ability to modify interaural level differences, effectively adjusting the influence of room size characteristics during playback. This feature is available in six stepped settings, granting users greater flexibility and precision in tailoring their listening experience.
