The SPL Performer m1000 is a monoblock power amplifier that embodies pristine audio quality. It is constructed around the VOLTAiR 120v rail technology, which provides precise control over loudspeakers, even when pushed to their limits.
Thanks to SPL's exclusive VOLTAiR technology, the design of the m1000 power amplifier is more streamlined compared to many other amplifiers. It utilizes only one preamp op-amp to drive its bipolar power amp transistors, resulting in a reduced number of signal path components.
The Performer m1000 delivers 1000 watts into 2 Ohms and 750 watts into 4 Ohms, offering exceptional speed, directness, and extraordinary sound reproduction.
Each amplifier is equipped with a slave-through XLR output, allowing for convenient connectivity, along with an input trim switch for precise gain adjustments.
SPL conducted extensive component testing to determine the optimal transformer for the m1000 model. The 1375 VA toroidal transformer was selected to maintain a fully analogue power amp design. According to SPL, this choice outperforms the sound performance of digital amplifiers and those employing switch-mode power supplies.
With a capacitance of 54400 µF, the m1000's power supply efficiently handles screening and electricity storage, ensuring faithful reproduction of impulse peaks. The transformer is mounted on a separate plate with rubber dampers to eliminate additional noise during operation, contributing to a pristine audio experience.
