Pure Birch Shells
Delivering what Sonor call a new dimension in sound, the Sonor SQ1 kit features a 100% birch shell construction.
Sonor tested a range of birch-based shell material combinations in the development of their SQ1 range before settling on pure birch because of its exemplary versatility.
Characterised by its loud cutting tone, birch offers great balance across all the frequencies with its boosted highs, less pronounced midrange and great low-end punch.
Capable of producing the piercing projection needed to cut through the mix on stage as well as the well-rounded depth of tone needed for studio recording, this kit is able to cover every situation.
German Engineering
Sonor utilise a unique Cross Lamination Tension Free process in the creation of their drum shells to ensure a super strong build.
Each of the shells of this 3-piece drum kit feature Sonor’s Optimum Shell Measurement which means they have a slightly narrowed outside shell size.
The combination of this cross-lamination process and the narrowed shell size serves to ensure a drum kit that’s super easy to tune and delivers excellent sustain.
Sound Sustainer
Designed to optimise the acoustic performance of the drums, Sonor worked in conjunction with scientific institutes to develop their tom mounting system.
The result of the collaboration is the Sound Sustainer technology tom mount which is based on concepts that are used in the automotive industry.
The premise of the Sonor Sound Sustainer design is a two-component connection that enables the complete isolation of the metal mount from the wooden shell.
Featuring a rubber and metal construction to keep the two apart, this tom mounting system guarantees particularly long lasting and clean decaying sustain.
The Sound Sustainer system is on both the 12” rack tom and the 16” floor tom to provide stable tom positioning and optimum tonal response.
Roadster Green
Available in 4 matte lacquer finish options, each of the Sonor SQ1 kits feature colours inspired by the world of classic automotive design.
The lacquer surfaces are handcrafted with Sonor’s precision sanding, polishing and lacquering processes to ensure a kit with a stunning aesthetic.
All of the shells of this Sonor SQ1 kit are also sealed inside with a special lacquer.
