The Motiv MV51 large-diaphragm condenser microphone from Shure has been designed to pay tribute to the long lineage of quality Shure microphones that came before it while providing high quality modern day recording solutions in its own right.
The MV51 is specifically engineered for high fidelity audio capture, seamlessly integrating via iOS, Mac and PC devices to provide studio-quality home recording and video-conferencing. The 1 inch capsule element provides unmatched audio results, which are easily monitored in real-time via the built-in headphone socket.

Combining vintage look and modern features, the new Shure MV51 digital condenser microphone is somewhat of a flagship for Shure’s Motiv Series. A unique touch panel allows for quick access to gain, mute and headphone monitoring volume adjustments. With seamless 24-bit / 48 kHz digital recording that delivers unmatched audio results. The MV51 features five onboard DSP preset modes (Speech, Singing, Flat, Acoustic Instrument, Loud). It includes both a Micro-B-to-USB cable for connection to a PC or Mac, and a Micro-B-to-LTG cable for connection to Apple iOS devices.Portability, Versatility
With its integrated rear kickstand, the Shure MV51 is perfectly situated on your desktop for when you’re recording podcasts, vlogs or just voice-chatting online – for speech, just tap the touch panel to the preset ‘Speech’ mode. Then, when it’s time to record some singing just take away the rear kickstand and you can mount the MV51 to any standard 15.9mm thread microphone stand – just set it the preset mode to ‘Singing’ to get optimum results. Need to underlay those vocals with a guitar? Just switch into the ‘Acoustic Instrument’ mode to really bring out those tones and if things are getting a little noisy just set the MV51 to ‘Loud’ mode to keep things under control and all the while you can monitor in real-time using the integrated headphone output.
Connectivity and Recording
Not only can you easily connect to PC or Mac via the included Micro-B-to-USB cable but you can also connect to your handheld Apple iOS device using the included Micro-B-to-LTG cable. Shure have provided a free iOS app that is designed specifically for use with the Shure MOTIV microphone series allowing you to edit your recordings on the go with 5 band EQ, compression, gain settings and a whole host of other options for you to get the most out of your MV51 recording!
