The Hot Rails was something of a revolution when it first appeared: the unusual look of the long rails instead of pole pieces marked this out as a fresh idea indeed.
This is a high output humbucker pickup squeezed into the space of a Strat single coil pickup. The rails design lets the pickup take more of the vibration from the guitar’s strings and transfer that into molten Rock tone.
Yes, this is indeed a hot sound! There is loads of output available and a pronounced midrange to the sound, making sure your riffs and solos really jump out at your audience.
