Not only is the Sandberg Basic Ken Taylor stunning looking, with even the standard models being as eye-catching as you could wish for, but they play and sound terrific too.
Featuring a pair of high-powered Sandberg powerhumbuckers (with split-coil functionality), an Active/Passive 3-band on-board EQ, Ebony fingerboard, premium-quality Sandberg hardware, and a gorgeous black Zebrawood top over a lightweight Ash body, this particular Sandberg Basic Ken Taylor is a force of nature in its own right.
A Tonal Monster
With all of the bite, growl and punch you'd expect from a pair of humbuckers like this, the Sandberg Basic Ken Taylor can also be as smooth and delicate sounding as you could wish for. The split-coil functionality of the pickups makes it easy to switch from Humbucker to Single Coil mode at your leisure, whilst the on-board EQ can transition between Active or Passive, depending on what you need.
Put simply: there is almost no limit to the tones readily available with this bass.
Made to be Played
Sandberg Basic Ken Taylor basses (in fact, all Sandberg basses) feature an ergonomically designed curvature to their bodies, ensuring that they rest comfortably against you whilst you play. This, combined with the awesome looks and solid, hard-wood construction, makes repeatedly playing the bass for extended periods of time seem like more of a pleasure than a chore.
In fact, the most difficult thing I've found when it comes to Sandberg basses is thinking of a reason NOT to buy one. I literally can't. Once you've had a playtest at your local PMT, you'll see exactly what I mean.
