The Sabian AAX 21 inch Thin Brilliant Finish Ride Cymbal features a new hammering process and a small bell to create a sound with more highs, darker lows, and great crash ability.
Bright Crashable Ride
Introduced at NAMM 2019 as part of the Sabian AAX series overhaul, this ride cymbal introduces a whole new sound to the AAX range.
The revamp of the AAX line involves the delisting of some cymbals, the introduction of new hi-hats, crashes and rides and the maintenance of the Omni, X-Plosion, Freq and Aero models.
The use of a new hammering process in the creation of these new AAX cymbals works to deliver a range of sound options that have a wider frequency range and a more versatile depth of tone.

The brilliant finish of the ride serves to provide a slightly brighter stick articulation than the natural finish model, while the use of small raw bell enables a superb crash response.
Utilising a small raw bell helps to keep the weight of the ride to a minimum which allows it to open up quickly to deliver bright blasts of accenting tone.

New Hammering Process
For the creation of their new AAX cymbals, Sabian have employed a completely new hammering process.
The new hammering style features a bigger, rounder peen which provides a much more visibly hammered aesthetic combined with a whole new sound.
As well as the visible difference, the hammering process expands the frequency range of the ride by extending the highs as well as producing a more complex, slightly darker low-end tone.
The result is a thinner ride cymbal with a well-rounded, versatile range of sound.
