The Sabian AAX 20” Thin Brilliant Finish Ride Cymbal provides a slightly brighter top end response than the natural finish model, combined with complex dark lows.
Bright Crashable Ride
Revealed at NAMM 2019 as part of the AAX series revamp, this 20” Thin Brilliant Ride brings a completely new palette of sound to the AAX line up.
The transformation of the AAX range sees the end of less popular models, the maintenance of the Freq, Omni, X-Plosion and Aero and the release of a variety of new hi-hats, crashes and rides.
In addition to the overhaul, Sabian have used a completely new hammering process to create new AAX cymbals that have an extended frequency range to produce more versatile tone.

The New Style
The whole ethos of the new Sabian logo and the transformed AAX range is to be your own drummer.
It’s the creation of cymbals that were made for those who don’t follow the crowd. For those who don’t care what others are doing. For those who want to build their own individual sound.
That said, Sabian have used a completely new hammering process in the creation of their new AAX cymbals which serves to deliver a new look as well as a new sound.
The new hammering style incorporates a larger, rounder peen to deliver a more visibly hammered aesthetic, a thinner ride and a more complex, slightly darker tone.
As well as changing the low-end response, this hammering process also expands the top end to provide more highs which results in a wider band of frequency.
This means a ride cymbal with increased, brighter highs and more complex, dark lows to provide a full, well-rounded sound.
Crash and Ride
In addition to the new hammering process, Sabian have used a small raw bell in the creation of their AAX Thin Rides in order to provide increased crash ability.
The use of a smaller bell keeps the weight of the ride to a minimum which allows it to open up quickly to deliver superb crashing accents.
Offering the perfect way to achieve a wide range of tone from a reduced setup, this Sabian ride allows you to play crisp ride patterns and impactful crashes from one cymbal.
