If you have already looked at an image of this pedal and managed to place the hat with the name, you will probably have a good idea as to the kind of sounds produced by this happy accident of engineering. Rockett Pedal's "Lenny" (named after the song by Stevie Ray Vaughn) started out life in the design stages as a recreation of the legendary Dumble Steel String Singer (as used by SRV on his debut album, Texas Flood), but when pushed to create more colour, texture and feel as opposed to just a loud and clean sound, the result was a musical boost that helps to considerably define your tone in an inspiring way.
Although the resulting sound you achieve will depend heavily upon the kind of amp that you run it into, the Lenny will be just as happy driving an edgy preamp into overdrive as it would be adding a bit of oompf to a clean signal.
Definite mid character, but boy does it cut through a mix!
The two basic controls (Boost and Tone) are symbiotic when slamming an amp, fully interacting with one another whatever the setting you choose. Sitting with both controls at the midway point gives you a similar output to that of your bypass tone, but with increased gain and midrange. Reducing the tone level helps to noticeably soften the treble, whilst increasing it has a musical presence-boosting effect that you won't be able to get enough of.
Amazing touch sensitivity and responsiveness
Designed with extensive touring in mind, this lovely little pedal is housed in a tough steel enclosure and sports the new solderless "Speed Switch" system, which helps provide a smoother activation. The easy-access, top-mounted jack input sockets allow for a more compact pedal board: just imagine all of the space you could save having your pedals quite literally side by side instead of 6 inches apart to make allowances for patch cables between them.
