All Maple Shells

The shells of the Pearl Decade Maple kit are constructed from 6 plies / 5.4mm of 100% maple.

Maple is well known for its all-purpose tone. With even highs and mids, plus warm low frequencies, Maple is ideal for a wide range of musical styles.

The Decade Maple shells feature a cross laminated construction that results in a thin but powerfully strong shell that reacts quickly to each stroke.

These shells have been 10 years in the making. That’s how long it’s taken to refine the process and the material choice for this kit. Serious business!

The result is a kit with resonant highs and thunderous lows.

Matching Snare Drum

In addition to the toms and bass drum, this kit comes complete with a matching 14” x 5.5” snare drum.

The snare features the same 6ply 5.4mm all maple shell as the toms and bass and is finished with 1.6m triple flanged hoops.

The Pearl Decade Maple snare has 8 lugs, SR700 strainer and 20 strand snare wires.

Superior Shell Technology

The Pearl Decade Maple kit has been built using Pearl’s proprietary Superior Shell Technology to ensure superior tone, optimum resonance and superb strength.

The process begins with the wood selection. The Maple used in this Pearl drum kit has been specifically selected for its unique acoustic attributes.

The wood is then milled to a precise thickness and put together using overlapping scarf joint seams to ensure a perfect, air-tight fit.

The plies are then covered with Pearl’s proprietary “AcoustiGlue” which seeps into the pores of the wood before being dried to an exact consistency to give the wood optimum resonance.

The plies are then formed in high temperature moulds under 1000 PSI hydraulic pressure to produce a perfectly round drum shell.

Great care and attention has been put into the building of the Pearl Decade Maple kits are it really shows, both in aesthetic and tone.

Pro-Level Features

The Pearl Decade Maple drum kit features the top-level attention to detail you’d expect to pay much more money for.

The shells are adorned with Pearl’s low-mass, low-contact hardware, designed to provide optimum shell performance and rock-solid durability.

The tom arms included with the Decade Maple kit feature uni-lock gearless position tilters allowing for secure, precise and stable tom positioning to ensure you achieve your ideal playing position.

The rack toms are also fitted with Pearl’s three-way Optiloc Mounting System which has been designed to ensure minimum contact with the shell allowing it to resonant freely for clear tonal projection.

Other high-end features include insulated die-cast claw hooks, R40 air suspension floor tom feet to allow the floor tom to resonant undampened by contact with the floor, and newly designed mini lugs for a sharp aesthetic and minimal shell contact.

As with the snare, all the toms are fitted with 1.6mm steel triple flanged hoops.

830 Series Hardware

All the Pearl hardware stands feature a robust 1” diameter base, 7/8” diameter centre tubes and double braced tripods for ultimate rigidity and stability.

The P-930 single pedal combines the styling and performance of the popular Pearl Demon Drive pedal with the interchangeable cam technology found on the Pearl Eliminator.

These Pearl Decade Maple drums are finished in a stunning Gloss Deep Red Burst. This finish is applied using Pearl’s cultured lacquer finishing process to offer an aesthetic popping with vibrancy.

The beautifully glossy red finish has a tapered look, graduating from a darker tone towards the outer edge of the shells to a more luscious, cherry red in the centre of the shells.
