Representing levels of design, detail and craftsmanship of a bygone era, Gretsch's Roots Collection of acoustic guitars are both rich in voice and subtle in style. Based on traditional acoustic instruments, and chiming with the sounds of the past, these stylish-yet-simple looking affordable acoustic guitars wouldn't seem out of place accompanying travelling folk musicians of the early 20th century, or hanging above the fireplace in an episode of Little House on the Prairie.
A strong voice with exceptional balance!
Rooted in pure Gretsch sensibility, the G9521 Style 2 Auditorium Slothead model rings clear with a quick, articulate note response and a crisp bass that is never "muddy". This is due largely to the exquisite tonewoods used during construction. The Solid Sitka spruce top rings with booming clarity capable of retaining it's tone when played. This is paired perfectly with the laminated mahogany sides and back, a tonewood known for producing a range of "earthy" sounds around both the low and high ends of the spectrum. Put simply: this guitar is perfect for just about any "unplugged" situation you may encounter.
The size and string spacing of the G5921 Style 2 Auditorium Slothead make it ideal for finger-style players, shining in aural balance whilst still projecting an unexpectedly direct tonal "throw". In addition to this, the guitar comes with an array of premium appointments and finishing touches to add that extra authentic feel, such as: "Prairie-Inspired" tapered solid spruce bracing, an 1800s style "thin" bridge with solid maple bridgeplate, handmade all-wood early "Arts & Crafts" era marquetry and an Appalachia Cloudburst finish. This guitar would easilly look the part regardless of which room in your house it adorned, or whatever type of stage you were performing on.
