Superior Shell Technology
The Pearl Export kit has been built using Pearl’s proprietary Superior Shell Technology to ensure superior tone, optimum resonance and superb strength. The process begins with the wood selection. The Poplar and Mahogany used in this Pearl drum kit have been specifically selected for their unique acoustic attributes.
The wood is then milled to a precise thickness and put together using overlapping scarf joint seams to ensure a perfect, air-tight fit.
Opti-Loc Tom Mounts
The Rack Toms of the Export EXX feature Pearl’s Opti-loc tom mount system.
This system has been specifically designed to reduce the contact between the mount and the shell so that the tom is allowed to vibrate freely.
Rather than drilling into the shell, which can change the sound, the opti-loc system works by attaching the mount to the tom using 2 tension rod attachments and another attachment through one of the toms two air vents. This ensures minimum contact with the shell to avoid dampening it.
A Brilliant addition to the Pearl Export kit include a bass drum mini muffler which dampens the bass drum slightly to add more control and focus to the sound should you need it as well as a ported front head for easy mic placement and muffle adjustments.
