The Meinl Bamboo Brush Multi-Rod Bundle Sticks were designed as a blend of two ideas, integrating brush and rod characteristics to create a unique type of brush for drummers and percussionists.
Bamboo Brush
Meinl has a long history of producing quality multi-rods for percussionists. They’ve now expanded their lineup to include multiple models and sizes in a wide range of materials.
The Meinl Bamboo Brush is constructed using thin solid bamboo dowels that are grouped into smaller sub-bundles within each brush. The result is a cross between a rod and a brush.
The dowels of the Bamboo Brush are openly spread as a result of the bundling of small groups of rods, providing the appearance and response of a traditional drum kit brush.
However, while the spread appears similar to a standard brush, the bundled rods offer a different sound response compared to the traditional individual strands of normal brushes. The grouped dowels provide thicker strands for a more weighty, robust brush sound.
Finished with stylish transparent easy-to-grip handles adorned with the Meinl logo and Multi-Rod variety name.
Neither a brush nor a rod, the Bamboo Brush offers a superb blend of both tools. The fan shape spread of the dowels allows the Bamboo Brush to be used in sweeping patterns typical of brush work, while the more robust bundled strands offer a fat, weighty backbeat response.
