Subsequent to developing the OD808 in the late 1970's, Maxon were ever eager to improve upon the general design and eventually created the fantastic OD-9 (known worldwide as a TS-9): the overdrive pedal that firmly cemented the Tubescreamer sound in the history of Rock n' Roll.
A New Take on a Classic
The original OD-9 (aka TS-9) circuit is the legendary effects pedal that helped to define the sound of none other than Stevie Ray Vaughan.
With the newly reissued Maxon OD-9, you get the traditional low-noise NJM (JRC) 4558D Op Amp for that authentic Tubescreamer tone, but with the addition of true bypass switching - enough to satisfy even the most meticulous of tone hounds!
