The Ludwig Van Buren Series drum kit features a 3 ply legacy mahogany shell to deliver the familiar Ludwig tone that's made this company so successful/
Celebrating the remarkable longevity of the company, this drum kit has been designed to showcase the rich history of Ludwig while appealing to the needs of the modern drummer.
First used in 1923, the Ludwig 3 ply shell formula quickly captured the imagination of generations of drummers, helping to build the sound of the 20th century.
Revitalised in this new modern twist on that classic build, the Van Buren shell pack features shells constructed from outer and inner plies of 1/16" mahogany, with a core ply of 1/8" American poplar.
The cross laminated poplar centre serves to add focus to the warm rich low end"œwoody" tone of the mahogany shells resulting in a drum kit that delivers beautiful warmth, a rawness of tone and superb powerful projection.
The addition of 1" solid maple reinforcement rings works to stabilise the shells to provide extra strength and durability.
Blended Bearing Edges
Each of the shells in this Ludwig Legacy Mahogany 3 piece shell pack feature a 30 degree inner cut and a 1/4" radius round over bearing edge.
The combination of the vintage style 30 degree edge and the radius round over works to produce a drum sound with a pure, well-rounded tonal response.
Evoking the distinctive sound of 20th century popular music, the precisely cut bearing edges work with the stunning 3 ply shells to deliver a robust, powerful range of tone to fulfil the needs of a variety of playing styles.
Vintage Inspired Trimmings
Providing a drum kit with looks that are as stunning as its sound, the Ludwig Van Buren drum kit features a range of vintage inspired trimmings to provide a strikingly sophisticated look.
The shells feature a vintage mahogany stain that is an augmented version of the African mahogany natural finish.
Offering a strikingly beautiful, grained deep brown look, the rich dark mahogany stain is accentuated perfectly by the inlaid maple hoops.
Adding brilliant contrast to the shell, the light maple hoops have a classy white pearl inlay adding a stylish attention to detail that perfectly frames the kit.
