The Ludwig Acrophonic 14” x 5” Snare Drum is a limited-edition snare that combines aspects of the Supraphonic and Acrolite to deliver sleek style and crisp, dry tone.
Acrolite + Supraphonic = Acrophonic
Produced in only a limited number, the Ludwig Acrophonic combines attributes from two of the most popular Ludwig snare drums.
Featuring the aluminium shell of an Acrolite and the fittings of the Ludwig Supraphonic, the Acrophonic takes the best of both.
The aluminium shell delivers crisp highs, dynamic sensitivity and dry, cracking tone to produce all purpose sound ideal for all playing styles and settings.
Meanwhile, the imperial lugs, triple flanged hoops and P85AC throw off offer top end functionality.
The Acrophonic delivers Supra style with Acro tone.

Hammered Aluminium Shell
The shell of the Ludwig Acrophonic snare is made from aluminium in keeping with the traditional Acrolite snare.
Aluminium drums are characterised by crisp highs and warm, open mids and low to deliver colourful and sensitive sound.
The beaded shell is also hammered to offer a striking aesthetic and to improve the sensitivity of the snare response.
Offering bright, resonant tone with great balance across the frequencies, the Acrophonic produces delicate sensitivity through to powerful punch to ensure you always have the sound you need no matter the style or setting.
Supraphonic Style
The Acrophonic snare is adorned with all chrome hardware to deliver the same style as the popular Ludwig Supraphonic snares.
The aluminium shell is framed with 2.3mm triple flanged hoops and features classic art deco style signature Ludwig Imperial Lugs to offer an instantly recognisable look.
The snare is fitted with the Ludwig P85AC throw off to provide smooth adjustability of the snare wire response.
The shell is finished off beautiful with a Keystone badge to deliver classic Ludwig style.
Weather Master Heads
The Ludwig Acrophonic snare comes complete with Ludwig Weather Master drumheads as standard to offer rich resonance and robust durability.
The batter side features a weather master coated head and the underside has a weather master clear snare side.
