A familiar-looking Offset guitar, fine-tuned to perfection over years of development by Leo Fender, the G&L Tribute Doheny MN Olympic White is a classic in every way.

Featuring a relatively lightweight Basswood body, dual-fulcrum tremolo, and a set of MFD wide-bobbin single coil pickups, this striking guitar is both versatile and fun to play.

An Evolution of a Classic

Taking inspiration from the classic surf guitar sound of Southern California, the G&L Tribute Doheny is named for Doheny Beach found at the heart of orange county - the home of the '60s surf movement.

The newly designed MFD pickups fully complement the guitars classic Offset style, delivering an all-around fantastic playing experience.

G&L Tribute Doheny MN Olympic White Key Features:

  • Maple Fingerboard
  • Wide-Bobbin MFD Pickups
  • G&L Dual-Fulcrum Vibrato Bridge
  • Great Electronics with G&L's PTB System

Building the G&L Doheny

Basswood has been used to form the distinctive body shape of the G&L Doheny, with its offset waist giving it a beautifully elegant aesthetic while the cutaway allows for easy reach of the higher frets.

Attached to the body is a hard-rock Maple neck which holds a matching Maple fretboard providing an incredibly smooth playing surface.

Found on the body is a Dual-Fulcrum vibrato designed by Leo Fender. Giving you smooth control with a strong aluminium vibrato arm, the Dual-Fulcrum is a pure work of engineering art that allows for huge up and down bending while maintaining incredible stability.

Newly Developed Magnetic Field Design Jazz Pickups

Equipped with two newly designed MFD Jazz pickups, the first for any production G&L guitar, the G&L Tribute Doheny takes the traditional bolt-on offset guitar to new territories.

Wrapped with traditional Formvar wire, these pickups have been made in the same way Leo Fender liked to make his pickups, continuing his legacy in new designs.

With their old-school jangly sound, for fans of classic Offset guitars such as the Jaguar and Jazzmaster, this guitar is a definite pleaser, delivering tone that’s full-bodied and rich in harmonics.

A 3-position toggle allows you to use the pickups how you want to; either one individually or a combination of the two while a volume and two tone controls allow for further sonic shaping.

Roll back the volume and bass controls and the MFD pickups are able to give you some beautifully smooth and detailed tones because of the Doheny’s PTB (Passive Treble and Bass) system.

With this, you can play exactly how you want, safe in the knowledge that the G&L Tribute Doheny will always have you sounding great.

Not Just for Surfers

Thanks to their versatility, great looks and being the “alternative” option compared to more commonly seen guitars, Offset guitars have been quite popular in a number of genres and scenes.

Originally intended for jazz players, these types of guitars were embraced by surf rock bands and have even cropped in grunge, britpop and more.
