Period-Accurate Construction
The Master Luthiers at Fender extensively researched several 1962 models, to ensure era-accurate specifications.
For starters, Alder has been used to craft the distinctive and unmistakable body shape of the '62 Stratocaster, with its signature double cutaway design allowing for easy reach of the higher frets – perfect for your guitar solos.
Plain grain Maple has been used for the neck which has a nitro lacquer finish, and the dimensions are as accurate and authentic as possible.
With its 60s style oval "C" back shape, it is comfortable to hold in your fretting hand while adding that genuine 60s vibe to the playing feel.
Traditional Rosewood has been used for the fretboard and features a comfortable 9.5” radius with Micarta white dots in place as position markers.
Classic Strat Tones
To give the Fender Custom Shop '62 Stratocaster Journeyman Relic its incredible sound, it has been fitted with a set of Fat '60s pickups.
Found in each the bridge, middle and neck pickup positions, these pickups give you the amazing sound of a real 1960s Stratocaster – the driving force behind some of the most well loved songs In rock ‘n’ roll history.
Giving you a wide range of sounds, the five-way pickup selector switch allows you to select how you’d like to use the SSS configuration.
In addition to this, a set of controls in the form of Master Volume, Tone 1 (for the neck pickup) and Tone 2 (for the bridge/middle pickups) allow you to really tailor your sound to your exact liking.
Premium-Quality Hardware
n the body of the Fender Custom Shop 62 Stratocaster Journeyman Relic, you’ll find a 6-saddle American Vintage Synchronised Tremolo bridge, with easily adjustable saddles.
The inclusion of the vintage style Stratocaster tremolo arm means you can get that fantastic, retro-whammy sound, whilst the strings-through-body design of the bridge also enhances sustain so this guitar will truly sing.
At the headstock you'll find vintage style tuning machines, providing beautiful and accurate vintage aesthetics, as well as precise and secure tuning of your strings.
