The Evans Hybrid 14” Snare Drum Head features a design originally intended for marching snares. Robust and textured it's ideal for hard hitters and brush players.
Hybrid Coated Snare Head
The Evans Hybrid coated is constructed using a weave of 2 unique fibres. The result is a drumhead that can withstand the heaviest of hitters. The weaved fibres also provide a wear-resistant texture which is ideal for brush playing.
The head offers a great amount of attack, with good sustain and reduced tone. As you’d expect from a snare head initially intended for marching drums, this head produces a very snappy, short thin tone. With lots of sharp attack, short sustain and minimal depth of tone this snare head offers a very cutting, top end sound.
If you want a snare sound with a smacking attack but aren’t too interested in a big sustained tone, the Hybrid Coated is a good option to consider. It’s super robust durability also means you’re likely to get a decent amount of time out of this head before needing to replace it.
Level 360 Technology
As with all Evans drum heads, this Hybrid Coated drumhead features unique Level 360 Technology.
This technology consists of a steeper collar to the rim of the drum head which ensures balanced contact with the shell bearing edge. This means the head makes proper contact with the shell ensuring a consistent fit so that the head won't damage easily or lose tension. The rim of the head also features a roll-over hoop designed to improve the strength and stability of the head without diminishing performance.
This technology ensures a more consistent head to shell contact that provides a wider range of tuning, better responsiveness and resonance, and a stronger, longer lasting head. What’s not to like?
