The Evans EQ3 18" Resonant Coated White Bass Drum Head with No Port features a single 6.5 mil ply and an internal 10 mil over tone control ring. Its coated white finish provides a professional appearance.
White Un-ported Reso Drum Head
The 18" EQ3 reso head from Evans is slightly brighter in tone than the EMAD range. It features a single 6.5 mil ply construction. Rather than a port hole this head features a 10mil internal ring to control unwanted overtones. The heads coated white finish offers an aesthetically pleasing option for the bass front head. This resonant head offers a good amount of sustain and tone to help create a full well-rounded bass drum sound.
Evans Level 360 Technology
As with all Evans drum heads, this EQ3 Drum Head features unique Level 360 Technology. This technology consists of a steeper collar to the rim of the drum head which ensures balanced contact with the shell bearing edge. This means the head makes proper contact with the shell ensuring a consistent fit so that the head won't damage easily or lose tension. The rim of the drum head also features roll-over hoop designed to improve the strength and stability of the head without diminishing performance. This technology ensures a more consistent head to shell contact that provides a wider range of tuning, better responsiveness and resonance, and a stronger, longer lasting head. Sounds like a win win!
