A Hard-Rocking, High Performance Axe
Metallica frontman James Hetfield is widely regarded as one of the World's most respected rhythm guitar players - in any genre. In addition to writing some of the most memorable guitar riffs of all time, Hetfield's legacy has been overtly-shaped by the guitars he plays with.
For many years he was most-often associated with his ESP Explorer, but in recent years he's taken to designing his own custom guitar body shapes. The Snakebyte is James's own redesign of the Explorer model, and is packed full of modern hardware and electronics to compliment its unique look.

Rock Solid Construction
True to the guitars Hetfield is most commonly associated with, the Snakebyte's body is carved from a piece of solid Mahogany. This tonewood is found on some of the most popular guitars ever made, and offers a harmonically rich natural tone.
In addition to this, the Snakebyte's "set in" neck is also crafted from Mahogany, carved with a Thin "U" profile and topped with a Macassar Ebony fingerboard.
This neck is designed to offer you fast and easy access to every note on the fretboard, making it ideal for heavy riffing, searing lead lines, and much more besides.
Custom Pickups
For the pickups on this beast of a guitar, Hetfield and ESP have opted to use an EMG JH "HET" SET - a pair of custom-voiced humbuckers, designed by EMG to meet the Metallica frontman's needs.
These pickups manage to capture the clarity and punch of a passive pickup, whilst retaining an awesome active tone. Their tone has been patterned after the pickups James used for more than three decades.
With their higher output, increased attack, and independent volume controls, these pickups are perfect for those hard rocking riffs.
