Originally released in 1980, the Electro-Harmonix Crash Pad has been re-released, giving you a host of great analog drum synth options.

Analog Drum Synthesizer

Over the years Electro-Harmonix has produced some boundary-pushing pedals. One particularly distinctive line was a series of analog drum pad synthesizers which included the Electro-Harmonix Crash Pad.

Originally released in 1980, this faithful reissue of the Crash Pad retains its great array of drum sounds and other-worldly sounding oscillation sweeps while also being able to process external sounds though a resonant filter.

For this new edition, the Crash Pad has been updated and upgraded so that it's now able to respond to expression pedal/CV input so you can have real-time, external control over the filter.

Versatile

The Electro-Harmonix Crash Pad is extremely versatile and can be utilised in many different ways.

Most simply it can be used as a drum synthesizer on its own, however, you can also use it to process the sound of a keyboard or synth.

You can even use it as an effect on your guitar signal by connecting your instrument via the AUX IN, or if you connect an expression pedal or sequencer via the CV input you can trigger it by those means.

All in all, your options with the EHX Crash Pad are pretty much only limited by your imagination and you may find that playing around with the Crash Pad inspires you too!

Using analog synthesis techniques, such as resonant filter sweeps, to create a range of drum sounds from cymbals to snares and some really out-there oscillation sweeps, the Crash Pad is a blast from the past while moving things forward.
