Squier Jim Root Telecaster, the incredible signature guitar of nu-metal guitar legend Jim Root.
Jim Root Signature Guitar
Designed in collaboration with Slipknot and Stone Sour guitarist Jim Root, the Jim Root telecaster is very much in fitting with his sound and style.
Blunt and to the point, the Jim Root Telecaster delivers some serious power from its black covered humbuckers that are backed up by black hardware on this awesome guitar.
Crafting the Jim Root Telecaster
Being a fan of all things classic and iconic, Jim Root is drawn to the Fender Telecaster and so when collaborating with Fender on the Jim Root signature guitar the Telecaster was used as its basis.
Mahogany has been used for the body which has been crafted into that classic Telecaster design with its single cutaway allowing for easy reach of the higher frets; a requirement for wailing solos.
Designed for high level performance and comfort, the Jim Root Telecaster features a modern neck with a contemporary “C” shaped profile. Atop the neck is a traditional Rosewood fretboard featuring 22 jumbo frets with parchment dots as position inlays.
Considerably flatter than modern radiuses of 9.5” fretboards or the 7.5” vintage standard, this fretboard has a radius of 12” with a slight curvature making it great for some serious bending of the notes without the worry of fretting out.
Black Covered Pickups with Simple Controls
Giving the Jim Root Telecaster its powerful roar is a pair of passive humbucking pickups. In keeping with Jim Root’s style, they feature black covers giving the Telecaster a unique and dark aesthetic.
A 3-position blade allows you to choose how you want to use the pickups with your options of either of the pickups individually or the combined forces of both the bridge and neck pickups.
Keeping the controls extremely simple there is one knob allowing you to adjust the overall volume of your guitar.
High Quality Black Hardware
On the body of the Jim Root Telecaster is a vintage-style hardtail bridge which has been specially engineered to enhance tuning stability and increase sustain, taking design elements from bridges that were prevalent in the early to mid -1970s.
At the headstock, you’ll find black die-cast tuning machines allowing for quick and precise tuning of your strings.
Reflecting Jim Root’s personal style, the Jim Root Signature Telecaster is kept extremely simple while the hardware is presented in all-black including the bridge, controls, bridge pickup bezel, tuning machines and even the strap buttons.
Great Style, Sound and Playability
Further adding to the awesome look and feel of this guitar, the Jim Root Telecaster features a satin finish. It is nicely smooth to the touch and has a stylish, matt finish to its appearance that really sets it apart from the usual gloss finishes found on electric guitars.
As a final touch that ups the cool factor of this guitar, on the rear of the headstock you'll find Jim Root's signature presented in black.
