To deliver a truly authentic acoustic-style playing experience, Yamaha have equipped the YDP-144 with 88 weighted keys using Graded Hammer Standard (GHS) technology.

These keys are weighted according to where they're situated - from the heavy-feel lower register notes, through to the lighter-touch upper octaves - and is as close to genuinely playing an acoustic piano as you could wish for.

Intelligent Acoustic Control

For those times where lower volume levels are needed, you need never compromise on your tone. This is thanks to the inclusion of iAC - Intelligent Acoustic Control - on the YDP-144.

iAC dynamically adjusts your sound automatically, allowing you to enjoy a balanced, toneful sound at any volume level.

Smart Pianist Connectivity

If you own a Smart Device (mobile phone or tablet) then you can expand your playing experience with the Yamaha YDP-144 even further thanks to its compatibility with the Smart Pianist app.

This app will actively scan audio files loaded into your music library, analyse the chord progressions, and then display these chords onto the screen of your Smart Device, allowing you to learn and play along with your favourite tunes.

In addition to this, if you load a MIDI file into the app, it will also show you the digital sheet music to play along with.

A Headphone Experience Like No Other

For when even more discretion is required in the form of a pair of headphones, you need not worry about loss of sound quality.

Thanks to the inclusion of a Stereophonic Optimiser function, the YDP-144 uses voices sampled from a number of acoustic pianos to deliver a more authentic playing experience.

In other words, the sounds playing through your headphones will sound and feel as though they're actually emanating from the piano's body, and not just from the headphones.
