Yamaha APX Series
Originally introduced in the late 1980s, the Yamaha APX series was designed to give gigging musicians a viable acoustic option on stage.
Up to that point, it was virtually impossible to take an acoustic guitar off the rack, plug it in and play it loud without a lot of unwanted feedback.
Enter the Yamaha APX guitars, a range of electro-acoustic guitars specifically made for fantastic live performance.
Doing away with awkward mic placement and feedback, the Yamaha APX series set a new standard for electro-acoustic guitars.
Great Crafting for Sound and Playability
Flame Maple has been used for the top of the APX600FM, giving it a gorgeous new look while adding to the volume, projection and sustain of your sound.
For the back and sides, Yamaha have used Nato which complements the Flame Maple top nicely, resulting in a full and natural acoustic tone. A new bracing system is also used which increases bass response, giving you even fuller tone.
The body itself has a slimmer profile, making it more comfortable and easier to play. It also features a cutaway which allows for easy reach of the upper frets; essential for solos and lead guitar licks.
For enhanced playability and comfort, the Yamaha APX600 Flame Maple Top has a 25” scale length and narrower string spacing. These features are particularly convenient for new players but certainly add to the comfort of more seasoned guitarists.
Stage-Focused Electronics
One of the best features the Yamaha APX 600 has to offer is its stage-focused electronics.
Fitted with a SYSTEM65 preamp and an SRT piezo pickup, the Yamaha APX600FM is ready to be plugged-in and played live and loud.
The built-in tuner allows you to conveniently tune your strings whenever you need, without having to bring along a separate tuner.
3-band EQ is also on hand so you can individually adjust the bass, middle and treble frequencies while a Mid FQ allows for further tonal shaping.
You’ll also find a volume control so you can easily adjust your level on the fly and turn down between songs.
