Superbly crafted by Yamaha, the A3M is a fantastic instrument from Yamaha’s electro-acoustic A-Series, bringing great playability, a fresh look and the cutting-edge Studio Response Technology pickup system.

Dreadnaught Electro-Acoustic Guitar

Fantastic Craftsmanship

Yamaha have approached the A3M with a view to creating the perfect all-rounder, workhorse electric acoustic guitar, designing it to be suitable for all applications so you don’t need to take multiple guitars on the road with you; just your trusty Yamaha A3M.

A performance level guitar, the A3M has a dreadnaught style body allowing for deep, booming low end and great volume.

A cutaway design to the body has been incorporated to make playing of the higher frets much easier; perfect for adventurous arpeggios, solos and other lead guitar playing.

Great Choice of Woods

A Solid Sitka Spruce has been used for the top. It has great qualities making it perfect for use as a resonating wood in guitars such as its broad dynamic range and crisp articulation making it suitable for all styles of acoustic guitar playing.

This particular model of the A3M comes with a beautiful, natural gloss finish so you can appreciate the natural grain and colouring of the solid Sitka Spruce top.

The back, sides and neck have been crafted from Solid Mahogany while the fingerboard is Ebony. Yamaha have chosen Ebony due to lovely, bright quality it can bring to your guitar’s tone while also being incredibly hard-wearing; sure to be in great condition even after years of playing.

Ebony has also been used for the bridge; offering optimum transfer of string vibration to the solid Sitka Spruce resonating top of the A3M.

SRT (Studio Response Technology) Pickup System

Making use of advanced digital signal processing and decades of research and development in the world of audio technology and recording techniques; Yamaha have developed the SRT pickup and preamp system. The Studio Response Technology system delivers natural, studio-quality acoustic guitar tone.

Emulating high-end studio microphones used in world-classic recording spaces, the SRT system brings an incredible sound to your amplified acoustic performance that is normally reserved for professional recording engineers.

A piezo pickup sits under the saddle, and utilising Yamaha’s proprietary SRT pickup technology it uses individual elements for each string resulting in an extremely clear, ultra-wide bandwidth signal with incredible dynamic response and tonal accuracy above and beyond what you can expect from a standard ribbon-type piezo pickup.

The SRT System63 Preamp. The preamp gives you a number of options to enhance your guitar’s sound and get the most out of your performance while staying true to the guitar’s individual acoustic qualities.

A built-in chromatic tuner allows you to perfectly tune your guitar whenever you need to, without having to carry around a separate, external tuner.

A three-band equaliser allows individual adjustment of the LOW, MID and HIGH frequency levels and a VOL control allows adjustment of the overall volume of the guitar.

A ‘TYPE’ switch allows you to select the pickup’s mic simulation type; chose from 1) a large diaphragm condenser mic, 2) a small diaphragm condenser mic and 3) a ribbon mic.

Increasing the versatility of the A3M is a FOCUS/WIDE switch allowing you to choose the setting for the simulated mic. When pushed in you have ‘focus’ selected which provides a clear tone, great for use when playing with a band. Push the switch so it comes out and you get a broader tone that is appropriate for solo play.

RESONANCE control allows you to adjust the amount of body tone being amplified and a BLEND Control allows you to mix the level of signals being received from the pickup and the simulated mic. Rotating the dial fully left gives you 100% pickup signal while rotating it fully right gives you 100% simulated mic signal.

Lastly, the A.F.R. (Auto Feedback Reduction) switch eliminates the issues that electro-acoustic playing guitarists constantly face when playing live. When feedback occurs; just hit the AFR button and the preamp will apply a notch filter to the unwanted frequency.

A large, brightly lit display allows you to easily read information from the tuner and other settings – even in dimly lit stage conditions.

Versatile, High Quality, Great Sounding Guitar

The A3M is the culmination of Yamaha’s over 45 years of experience in guitar building. Combining expert recording research and guitar development, Yamaha have developed a true all-rounder in the A3M which comes with a case.

Superb guitar craftsmanship, high quality woods and cutting edge pickup and preamp technology make the A3M an incredible guitar that you will enjoy for years to come.
