Taki Hirano Katana Drumsticks

Taki Hirano is a renowned internationally touring percussionist who has played with the likes of Fleetwood Mac alongside his own group Tao of Sound.

Designed to meet his diverse needs, his multi-purpose Vater percussion stick incorporates a range of clever features to deliver a set of versatile sticks capable of creating a range of sounds.

Named the inchœKatana inch by Hirano himself, the sticks are named after the traditional Japanese Samurai sword.

Versatile Dimensions

Specifically created to fulfil the needs of Taku Hirano, the Vater Katana drumsticks can be used in a multitude of ways thanks to their unique feature-filled design.

The sticks have a 16 inch length offering standard reach and taper down to a 3/8 inch tip to provide crisp rimshots perfect for timbales, as well as a delicate articulation on a range of percussion instruments.

Gum Rubber Handle

Innovative End Cap

The butt end of the sticks features a fixed medium/soft plastic end cap for use on a range of percussion instruments from woodblocks to mounted tambourines.

Delivering yet another tonal option, the middle of the end cap is fitted with a steel rivet to accommodate the playing of metal effects like cymbal scrapes.
