During the development of the UT Twin87, United Studio Technologies embarked on an extensive journey to evaluate, analyze, and capture the essence of the finest 87-style microphones spanning the past five decades, including the earliest vintage models.
Drawing from this extensive research, they meticulously crafted a new "definitive" 87 microphone. This exceptional microphone boasts a custom 24k gold-sputtered dual-diaphragm, paired with a dual backplate K87-style capsule.
It also features a large core custom wound output transformer and a carefully curated selection of premium components, including multilayer ceramics, tantalum, and WIMA film capacitors.
