The Taylor 514ce an electro-acoustic Grand Auditorium guitar featuring Taylor’s innovative new V-Class bracing and incredible Expression System 2 electronics.

A Class of Its Own

Made with premium tone woods, Taylor’s top level craftmanship and revolutionary new V-Class bracing, the Taylor 514ce has improved tone, volume and sustain.

Taylor 514ce V-Class Electro-Acoustic Guitar Key Features:

  • Grand Auditorium Body Shape
  • Western Red Cedar Top Wood
  • Tropical Mahogany Back and Sides
  • Venetian Cutaway
  • V-Class Bracing
  • Expression System 2 Electronics

New V-Class Bracing

Taylor’s ground-breaking new bracing design known as V-Class bracing transforms the way the guitar's top resonates, dramatically enhancing the sound.

A great leap forward from traditional X-bracing, V-Class bracing produces notes that are louder, more in tune with each other and with greater sustain.

Using V-Class bracing, the guitar’s soundboard can be both incredible stiff and flexible at the same time, and results in increased volume and sustain while also improving intonation.

Crafting the Taylor 514ce

Great sounding with a manageable size and shape, the Taylor 514ce is a grand auditorium style guitar, Taylor’s own signature shape, which makes it a fantastic all-purpose acoustic guitar.

For the resonating solid top of the Taylor 514ce, Western Red Cedar has been used.

Less dense than the more commonly used Spruce, Western Red Cedar adds a certain extra warmth to your tone and is ideal for finger picking styles and players with a softer approach to their performance.

For the back and sides, Taylor have opted for Tropical Mahogany. Already stunning in a visual sense, Tropical Mahogany adds fantastic midrange to your tone and is known for its great balance and articulation.

Another great feature of the Taylor V-Class 514ce is the venetian cutaway found in the body of the guitar.

With its soft, round lines and sloping peak, the venetian cutaway provides an elegant aesthetic while allowing for easy reach of the higher frets.

Attached to the body is a Tropical Mahogany neck holding a bound West African Ebony fretboard providing a great playing area while the neck’s smooth satin finish allows for fast and comfortable performance.

Expression System 2 Electronics

Using a breakthrough behind-the-saddle design, the Expression System 2 beautifully captures the dynamic properties of the 514ce.

The unique pickup design of the Taylor Expression System 2 delivers the latest in Taylor’s continuing innovation in the world of acoustic guitar amplification.

One secret to the ES2’s incredible performance is Taylor’s patented behind-the-saddle pickup which features three separately positioned and individually calibrated pickup sensors.

This unique placement and specific calibration allow for an increased capture of the dynamic range from the guitar.

Combined with Taylor’s own custom-designed professional audio-grade preamp, you get an exceptional amplified tone with incredible response.

Whether you’re playing on stage through a PA, plugged into an acoustic amplifier or recording directly onto a computer; the Expression System 2 delivers the true voice of your Taylor guitar.

A New Class for a New Standard

With the amazing new V-Class bracing, Taylor have set an incredible new standard for their guitars.

A few visual features denote the V-Class nature of this new version of the 514ce, such as the black graphite nut, a new label signed by master guitar builder Andy Powers, and a new abalone inlay on the headstock.

Of course, the most important difference is the fantastic improvement of the sound.

Furthermore, the Taylor 514ce comes to you in a deluxe Taylor hardshell case – the perfect way to protect your newest addition.
