100% Maple Shells
When making the Superstar Classic drum series, Tama's main priority was getting the sound right.
Tama used carefully selected maple shells and maintained a strong focus on the shell moulding and bearing edge shape.
As a result, these 100% maple shells give you full, powerful tone with great resonance and rich character.
Power Craft II drumheads are used on the drums to give you fantastic sound right out of the box while ring mufflers on the bass drum heads mean you don't need to add any internal muffling.
The Tama Superstar bass drum also features special claw hooks that stabilise the wood hopes.
Using a built-in rubber lining, these claw hooks are able to keep the wood protected while maintaining tuning, even during longer play sessions.
Great Features
Extremely popular with drummers since its introduction over 25 years ago, the Tama Superstar Classic shell pack features the Tama L-Rod and Omnisphere tom holder system.
With this tom holder system in place, you can enjoy easy positioning and incredible flexibility. What's more, it ensures fantastic stability and great sound that is far superior to standard designs.
The Tama Superstar Classic series also features small, newly designed separate lugs. With the surface area they take up on the shell reduced, these lugs allow the shells to resonate more freely for improved tone.
Another great feature of the Tama Superstar Classic kit is the Star-Mount System.
With this new mounting system installed, the batter side hoop of the drums is supported at four separate points. The bracket eye-bolts can slide to the left and right which makes it easy to prevent the eye bolts touching, even when you have the rack toms set up really close together.
As a result, the resonance of your drums is significantly increased.
