The Tama Starclassic Performer 22" 4pc Shell Pack is a stunning kit featuring the latest and most outstanding components by Tama. This shell pack includes a 22" x 16" bass drum, a 10" x 8" rack tom, a 12" x 9" rack tom, and a 16" x 14" floor tom. Each of these drums features a hybrid shell of maple and birch. These shells offer complex, powerful, and expressive tones - renowned qualities of the Starclassic Performer kits. The Starclassic Performer kits are fitted with a Star-Cast mounting system and die-cast hoops to provide the unmatched resonance, tone, and tuning capabilities.
New Hybrid Shell
The combination of 4-5 plies of Birch with 2 inner plies of Maple means the shells project with the warmth of maple and the clarity of birch. Tones are clean, articulate, and very well-balanced. The voice around the kit blends clearly with sweet versatility and unmatched attack levels.

Hardware
The Star-Cast Mounting System has always provided maximum resonance and stability for TAMA's pro drums. A streamlined design makes it easier to position toms closer together for greater ease and comfort.
Hoops not only affect drum tuning, but they also affect drum sound. That's why the choice of hoops was so important to the designers of Tama's professional drum lines. They choose zinc die-cast hoops, which are manufactured by injecting molten metal into molds.
Die-cast hoops have more density and are more consistent in shape than triple-flanged hoops, which are manufactured by bending metal plates. Die-cast hoops make tuning more consistent and easier to achieve because the tension bolts always contact the hoop properly. Drums fitted with die-cast hoops also offer crisper attack, clear and resonant highs, and much more powerful rim shots.
