Since the 1970s, acrylic drums have been sought after for their unique sound and sleek look. Over the last two decades, TAMA has released limited edition acrylic drum kits of our own, starting with the Starclassic Mirage in 2007. To commemorate TAMA's beginnings, the Starclassic Mirage will return as a limited edition 50th Anniversary model. Characterized by strong attack and thunderous tone, Starclassic Mirage's seamless acrylic shells delivers unmatched sound and stunning looks. In addition to its controlled, punchy, and rich sound, acrylic remains unaffected by changing climates, making it perfect for use in any environment. The darker Black Nickel shell hardware perfectly complements the clear shells, ensuring that audiences and drummers alike will be instantly captivated by their stage presence.

Hardware
The Star-Cast Mounting System has always provided maximum resonance and stability for TAMA's pro drums. A streamlined design makes it easier to position toms closer together for greater ease and comfort.
Hoops not only affect drum tuning, but they also affect drum sound. That's why the choice of hoops was so important to the designers of Tama's professional drum lines. They choose zinc die-cast hoops, which are manufactured by injecting molten metal into molds.
Die-cast hoops have more density and are more consistent in shape than triple-flanged hoops, which are manufactured by bending metal plates. Die-cast hoops make tuning more consistent and easier to achieve because the tension bolts always contact the hoop properly. Drums fitted with die-cast hoops also offer crisper attack, clear and resonant highs, and much more powerful rim shots.
Floor Tom Legs
Legs are quite often an afterthought, even at this price range. Floor toms are positioned vertically and once struck that downward force travels through the drum and into the solid floor which can kill all resonance and tone.
Tama has designed hollow rubber feet which help absorb the downward force which not only makes the drum a lot more comfortable to play but mainly reserves the drum's natural resonance, sustain, and tone
Star-Cast mounting system
Just one of the high-end features. The Star-Cast Mounting System has always provided maximum resonance and stability for Tama's professional drums. Not only does this mounting system allow your toms to sing with their most natural tones, but its streamlined design makes it easier to position the toms closer together for greater comfort and ease of playing.
